CHAPTER 11

A few days later Dimitri sat in front of Ambrose, Celeste, Ivan, Damien, and Dalton. Prior to the start of the meeting both Ambrose and Celeste told him that Dalton and Ivan only came because they are curious about meeting a ‘secret heir.’ Dimitri was aware they had no idea why they were gathered here nor do they believe there is a secret heir. Dimitri wasn’t surprised Ivan recognized him and Damien right away. Dimitri noticed his facial features changed when he saw them. He was probably wishing he hadn’t come at all. Dimitri knew he wasn’t on Ivan’s list of reliable people at the moment seeing how he dropped out of the recruitment. No matter Dimitri would take control of the situation and reverse the dynamics between them. Dimitri had to assert his power and authority so Ivan and Dalton would take him seriously and at least consider his position. Dimitri dug deep into himself, pulled on his anger, righteousness, and determination to see this through, and began filling the room with his strength.

Dimitri sat at the head of the long wood table waiting and watching. He was waiting for the right time to speak and the right words to say. Soon Dalton and Ivan stopped talking to Celeste and Ambrose. Dimitri knew the people in the room were quieting down because they were starting to feel the effects his strength that was filling the room. When he infused the room with his presence-his strength, he controlled the room.

Dimitri thought the time was right so he began speaking, “I know that you are here with very little information and a lot of questions. I will answer all the questions I can but there may be questions I will not answer but I assure you those are in the minority.” Dimitri paused to look Dalton and Ivan in the eye. “First I will tell you my true name, but know this if you do or don’t accept the information that I will give you today you will not expose this information to others less you are traitors to my crown and I can assure you the repercussions will be greater than those of Augustus.” Ivan’s bushy eyebrows reached his hairline but Dimitri kept going, “My name is Dimitri Donovan Cross of the Strigotgi Line, Son of High King and Queen Elizabeth and Constantine Cross and Crown Prince to the Dominions.”

“What type of game are you playing Dimitri?” Ivan asked standing so abruptly his chair fell back the cracking sound echoing in the silence of the room.

Dimitri did not react he simply gave a look to Ambrose who picked the chair up, and then he motioned for him to take a sit. He released a little more of his strength into the room and waited for a moment before he looked at Ivan straight faced and said, “Ivan I assure you I am the Crown Prince. If you do not believe me then perhaps you would believe Ambrose or Celeste.” Ivan looked at Ambrose and Celeste who both shrugged.
